"You are not judged by the height you have risen, but from the depth you have climbed." |
During this uncertain time, there are ways to stay connected to Rebound, Inc. and support the work we are doing in the community. As an essential organization, we continue to press forward in our daily efforts to support our youth and the youth in the community. Please keep an eye out for events, announcements, and giving opportunities across our social media platforms!

ANNOUNCEMENTS!
COVID-19 RESPONSE PROGRAMS!
Rebound is working diligently to support families in our community during this unprecedented time. We have partnered with the department of education to bring the community a free meal program and a distance learning program. To learn more about these programs click here.
BETTER TOGETHER MENTORSHIP PROGRAM!
Our Better Together mentorship program is looking for mentors!!
With 850 kids in the Juvenile Justice system in Hennepin County, we're looking for more positive male and females of the Black, Latina, Native and Somali communities. We're looking for more men to give back because the need is more significant.
There are three options for you to become a mentor in your community (one of the mentoring for one hour and thirty minutes):
1. In-person community mentoring - weekly community outing (your choice)
2. Red Wing - Bi-weekly, on-site visits (mileage paid) and bi-weekly phone call on the opposite weeks from visits.
3. Hennepin County Home School - Weekly, on-site visits
During COVID-19, we have moved to FaceTime, texting, phone calls, and MS team video chats. After the COVID-19 has passed and once it is safe to do so, we will go back to face-to-face meetings.
If you have questions or want to become a mentor, please call Will Tabor at 612-232-0295 or email at wtabor@reboundmpls.org
PARENT SUPPORT GROUP!
One of Rebound's core beliefs is that family & community are critical to children's success. Building on this value, Rebound, Inc. is launching a parent support group for the families served by our residential programs. This monthly gathering of the will provide an opportunity for parents to engage with one another, learn the skills and interventions being used with their child(ren) and get connected to community supports. All past & present program participants are welcome to join us. Dinner & transportation support will be provided.
UPCOMING EVENTS/ACTIVITES
GHANA TRIP - POSTPONED TO SUMMER 2021
Rebound will be taking a group of young people to Ghana, Africa! A growing body of knowledge highlights the benefits of cultural socialization toward one’s heritage culture for racial/ethnic minority youth’s identity development, socioemotional well-being, and academic outcomes. Please consider a cash donation (see Donate button above) to help make this trip happen!
COLLEGE TOUR 2021!!!
Rebound, Inc. is hitting the road with TWENTY young men and women this year for COLLEGE TOUR 2021!!! (Postponed from October 2020 due to campuses shutting down to outside visitors to Spring 2021). This year, we will tour FIVE historically black colleges and universities in and around Washington DC, as well as a number of historical sites that allow our young people to explore civil rights and their place in making this world better.
Rebound, Inc. prioritizes college tours because of our core belief that if shown the possibilities for their lives, young people will achieve great things! Muhammad Ali once said, “If my mind can conceive it, and my heart can believe it - then I can achieve it.” In keeping with this framework for success, exposure to positive possibilities for their lives can be transformational for at risk youth who, with appropriate support from caring adults, can use the seed planted by these experiences to end the cycle of poverty and violence in their communities. Unfortunately, the converse is also true. Young people with perspectives limited by their surroundings can find themselves unable to conceive a future beyond their circumstances.
Thanks to the generosity of our community partners, Rebound, Inc. is expanding the horizons of our youth! If you would like to donate to the college tour, please click on the donate button above!
