Covid-19 Response Programs
Jeun Dara - Community Food Program
We are working hard to provide high quality, culturally relevant, and absolutely delicious food and we would like to add dessert a few days/week. We are seeking black owned businesses with the capacity to provide dessert for 100 people at a reasonable price. If you would like to partner with us by, providing desserts for our families, please contact Colette Medas Benettie at Cmedasbenettie@reboundmpls.org
Rebound, Inc., with support from the Department of Education, launched its new food program on October 1st. The Free Dinner Program will run through December 30, 2020 and will provide free dinner to our community daily. Dinners will feature a variety of dishes to tease your taste-buds (will not contain any pork).
With Covid-19 making all our lives a little bit more busy and stressful, we wish to make life just a little more enjoyable.
Meals are available for pick-up or delivery (within a 5 mile radius of Lyndale and W Broadway) every afternoon between 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (with the Saturdays and Sundays meals being included with Fridays). Most meals will require heating up and little to no actual cooking or preparation and will come either refrigerated or frozen.
Please complete the form below if you are interested in receiving meals. Enrolment is limited, so we encourage you to sign up as soon as possible and try to be as accurate as possible as to how many people will be present for each meal (and if and when you will not be requiring meals).
**Due to the overwhelming response, the spots for the Jeun Dara meal program have been filled! We will reach out to those who have registered, in the coming days. **
Nguzo Saba - Out of School Program
Rebound, Inc. will be providing distance learning support, to youth in the community, through our Nguzo Saba Program. Nguzo Saba is a program working with youth, 5th – 8th grade, in North Minneapolis to ensure a healthy, helpful, fun, positive environment for youth doing distance learning due to COVID and during the afterschool hours. Students will receive assistance with distance learning as well as participate in activities and special events.
The program will begin October 15th and will continue through the end of the year. Youth will be able to attend the Nguzo Saba Program Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm.
